Life is a journey with many paths. Some of them, actually quite a few, are bumpy, full of potholes, and detours—they're not easy at all, but they're always there to show what you're really made of.
I've traveled many of these roads, and I've learned, above all, that it's not the mistakes that define us; what's important is how we receive these mistakes, how we interpret them, and use them to our advantage to change our destiny.
To let everyone know me a little better, I wanted to share this new post with all of you, showing how my past mistakes have helped shape my current mission of helping others find their way to physical and mental well-being.
Here, I list the formula I use to properly utilize these mistakes:
1. Reflection and Its Power: The first step in learning from mistakes is to reflect on them—not to look back in search of criticism, but rather to understand why they were made and to grow. Early in my life, I often took many shortcuts, making decisions without the slightest consideration of the future impacts they might have. I never followed the thoughts of others or listened to advice from wiser people who only saw potential in me but, because of my arrogance, I never wanted to listen and decided without looking around. These weren't just failures; each hasty decision disappointed or affected someone close to me, whom I love so much. Now, I receive each piece of bad news or decision as a life lesson and take the teaching it leaves me. This is what KATO FITNESS is all about. It is about educating all my online coaching students around the world, instilling in them the importance, strategy, and honesty of complex work; this is the core of my RESHAPE YOURSELF habits course. In a future post, I will explain a bit more about what this habits program is about.
2. Turning Difficulties into Strengths: Each challenge that presents itself is an opportunity to test our resilience and adaptability. For example, my fitness journey was not straightforward. I dabbled in various disciplines, sometimes hitting a wall, sometimes soaring through successes. My path has traversed jobs in mining, sommelier, flair bartending, I even had my own restaurant, and when I was 13 years old I worked unloading trucks with fruits and vegetables, since then I woke up at 4:30 AM. If I told you that to gather money to come to Australia I even worked as a male stripper, until due to additional issues that I will share in another post I started working in the fitness industry at the age of 29 becoming the best fitness advisor for the largest gym chain in my country called ENERGY GYM SPA. With all these experiences, I realized that my true calling was not just to be fit, but to use fitness to positively impact people's lives, with the greater goal of creating that supportive and uplifting community.
3. Community in Healing: No man is an island and it is never better exemplified than in the world of fitness and wellness. Building Kato Fitness from scratch has shown me what community means. In other words, everyone brings their internal struggle and victory. I firmly believe that together the world can improve, together we can create a vast and warm patchwork quilt of support. I have learned from my mistakes and therefore even encourage my members to open up and share their stories so that we can all grow in such an environment.
4. Commitment Larger Than Oneself: The most notable change in my life occurred when I realized that my calling lay in helping others avoid the pitfalls I encountered. By focusing on a holistic fitness regimen, I aim to address not just improving physical condition, but also providing a sanctuary for mental well-being. This purpose has enriched not only my life but also the lives of those who cross the doors of Kato Fitness.
Conclusion: Because although mistakes are not the end, sometimes they are the very boulders that put a pause in your step, rest, reflect and recalibrate your journey with renewed vigor and clarity. My brand does not only intend to offer a gym or group classes around Sydney. My true purpose and goals are to become one of the largest motivational speakers and coaches around the world.
To create a large family and support network and that every person who feels different or misunderstood will belong to a community of personal development, collective support, and the understanding that every day offers another opportunity to do things right. So, as I take you with me on this journey, I have to say, rest assured that I will continue with my ideas, not just as a physical trainer and coach, but as one who has seen how low and dark the valleys can be and how high and bright the peaks can rise.
Always remember, wherever you are along your path, you never walk alone; there will always be someone who wishes the greatest success in your life
Rome wasn't build in a day!, and for sure many things happened along the way. Thanks for the insights 🙌🏻
